About 灯火卓 ひとりで遊ぶTRPG
- You can start a story even without an opponent.
Tabletop role-playing games (TRPGs) are traditionally story-based games played with a facilitator and several players.
"Tomoshibi Taku" (Light Table) takes on the role of facilitator within the app.
No need for opponents or scheduling. The story begins the moment you open the app.
- How to Play
1. Choose a scenario.
2. Create a character (if unsure, just select "Leave it all to the game").
3. A scene will be presented; choose what to do.
4. Roll the dice, and the story branches depending on the result.
5. When the "Mission" progress is complete, the story concludes.
Read, choose, and roll the dice. That's all there is to it.
- Includes 113 scenarios across 26 genres (The "Oath of Iron and Ash" is free to play to the end)
From classic genres like dark fantasy, Japanese yokai, mythology, period dramas, exploration, maritime adventures, Westerns, and Taisho Romance, to contemporary themes such as courtroom dramas, medical dramas, rescue operations, espionage, craftsmen, weather, and everyday life, and even near-future settings like science fiction, cyberpunk, and post-apocalypse, as well as phantom thieves, death games, sideshows, funerals, and folklore. Each scenario and oath is completely different. Here are a few examples.
"The Oath of Iron and Ash" Dark Fantasy — In a remote frontier of ice and iron, one vows to rescue a kidnapped family member (Free)
"The Inn of a Hundred Demons" Japanese Style/Yokai — In a mountain inn town, non-human guests come to stay after sunset
"Juror, Doubt Cannot Be a Vote" Courtroom — To have one vote, not swayed by the majority
"The Clinic Without a Ferry" Medical — On a remote island isolated by a typhoon, you are the only doctor
"Midnight Voyage, Last On-Air" Everyday Life — The last night before a late-night radio station closes
"Black Swallowtail Butterfly, Steals the Evidence" Phantom Thief — In the depths of a Western-style mansion in the early Showa era
"Memory Market, Faces That Couldn't Be Remembered" Death Game — How much can you buy back memories?
"Lost on the Ridge, Trails of Light Until Sunset" Rescue — In the mountains where radio waves cannot reach, relying only on footprints
"The Embalmer, The Name Engraved on the Ring" Funeral — From the ritual washing of the body to the wake, with those left behind
"The Drifting of the Star Cage" SF/Space Drifting — You awaken alone on an immigrant ship. All three thousand sleep chambers are empty.
Also includes 113 scenarios in genres such as mystery, gothic horror, modern horror, cyberpunk, sideshows, and folklore.
New scenarios are being written daily in the workshop and will continue to be added.
- A different story each time you play
Character names, place names, enemy identities, perpetrators of incidents, events along the way—
The app redraws all of these each time you play. The second playthrough will be a different story.
- Main Features
・Character Creation — Allocate values to five abilities and choose three from the talents prepared to match the scenario genre (e.g., detective or nurse in the modern era, cyborg reflection or AI partner in the near future, bounty hunter or mountain guide in the frontier). "Leave it all to us" option is also available.
- Color & Emblem — Add your own personality to your characters with accent colors and emblems (emojis).
- Dice Roll — Roll a hexahedron and a decahedron to determine strong success/weak success/failure. Rolling doubles signals "upheaval."
- Momentum — Use this momentum at crucial moments to turn failures into successes.
- Progress Track — Track the progress of your mission, journey, and battles on a grid. The importance of this track can change during the story.
- Experience and Growth — Gain experience points each time you progress through your mission and reach the end. You can acquire new talents during the story.
- Bonds — A value that increases as you connect with people in the story. This can sometimes influence branching paths to the ending.
- Notebook — In addition to ability scores, progress, and inventory, you can always review events revealed along the way (future developments are not displayed).
- Oracle — A function that allows you to freely draw from an oracle table. It can also be used as a supplement to paper-based TRPGs.
- Adventure Stories and Epilogue Cards — Your gameplay records are saved as reading material, and a commemorative image can be created once you reach the ending.
- Ending Achievements — The endings you've read are recorded, and titles are earned based on your achievement level across scenarios.
- Challenge Play Themes — Self-declared themes, such as "Never burn out your momentum," add variety to repeated playthroughs.
- Pause and Resume — Automatically saves each time the scene changes. Dice rolls are also saved, so the results remain the same.
- BGM and Sound Effects — Ambient sounds with different atmospheres for each scenario. You can switch and adjust the volume individually in the settings.
- No Internet Required — Completely offline except for advertisements.
- For TRPG Beginners
Terminology and procedures are explained gradually within the app.
You can skip the initial character creation by pressing "Leave it All to Me," and
the screen displays "what is being compared" after each check.
A comprehensive explanation is provided in "How to Play."
- About Pricing
"Oath of Iron and Ash" is free to play from start to finish.
All remaining scenarios are one-time purchases. 100 yen each, or 1000 yen for a bundle (significantly cheaper than buying individually. The bundle price will remain the same even if more scenarios are added in the future).
Once purchased, you can play as many times as you like.
Furthermore, there's a "free slot" where you can choose your favorite scenarios from the paid ones and play them for free. Please check the app for details.
A separate one-time purchase (100 yen) to remove ads is also available.
